Bear Renovations just finished installing a metal shingle roof on our home and garage. Mike gave us an estimate with a start date and completion date. He started the job on time, and finished before the completion date. His crew were very efficient, courteous, and thoroughly cleaned up each day. The whole job took only 4 1/2 days for 35 square, including the tear off of old shingles. I felt that his quote was fair and a good value. The shingles I picked out had a 50 year guarantee. I would recommend him highly.
Mike and his crew removed 4 layers of ugly, deteriorating shingles and the base layer of cedar shakes from our 100 year old farmhouse. The new shingles gave that old house a brand new look. I am sure that Bob Villa wouldn't have touched that ugly roof. The roofing crew cleaned up the site after work each day and the site was impeccable when the job was done. The cost was very reasonable.I highly recommend Mike and his crew. They will be putting new windows in my house this summer.
Looking at the work done on our home by Bear Renovations while writing this puts me at a loss for words. We're talking about a custom-built log home needing a lot of finish work, and needing it done before the cold season. Mike came in, and after what we agreed was a fair estimate, sent in a crew that very obviously enjoyed their work and wanted the customer to be pleased. And man were we pleased! All top-of-the-line work done with the best of materials and all cheerfully done in a timely manner. You often hear people say, "It's hard to find good workers nowadays," and that may be true, but if you could see the quality of the work done on our home you'd know that finding good workers may be hard but it's certainly not impossible.
Mike was very disorganized and consistently overpromised and under delivered. We had a roof replacement which didn't start on time. Once the roof was finally installed, there it was noted that the ridge vent hadn't been installed. They couldn't install one because home was modular but didn't advise us. We were given a credit for it toward the heated gutters with leaf guards which never materialized...over a year and still waiting even after calls. Along with waiting for forms for shingle recall. Friendly guy but can't recommend his services.
After 9 months of having our siding fall off- installed by Bear- I'd go with someone else. Mike may be a good guy, but I can install siding myself that will fall off. He's had multiple folks out here to "fix" the issue- but it keeps falling off.
